Meet Wango, the telepresence robot built by sixth-grader Natalie Workman. This video is part of a series, created for the Passport to Hi-Tech event held every year at Connor Prairie in Fishers, IN. The purpose is to showcase talented women in STEM fields and careers, and motivate young women to pursue interests and activities in science and technology.
This video was shot in an afternoon, starting with an interview in which I learned all about Wango and its components. Natalie was a little camera shy, so it took some coaching and encouragement to get her to open up. Once she did, her intelligence and passion for engineering stole the show.
